Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) are a partner in the child protection safety net and provide an essential service to child abuse victims and their caregivers in communities across New Hampshire. CACs are responsible for the coordination of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), providing the forensic interview and coordinating referrals to ensure that children in these cases receive timely access to specialized medical attention and appropriate wrap-around services such as evidence-based mental/behavioral health assessment and treatment.
CACs provide a collaborative, coordinated systematic approach to child abuse investigations and subsequent supports for children and their caregivers. CACs produce many significant community benefits, including:
